Toyota appears to be approaching electric vehicles in a fairly contentious manner, and a leaked document outlining the brand's electrification plan issued to its dealers explains why. The document was provided from Toyota Corporate to its dealership network, outlining reason why dealers should anticipate seeing more hybrids and fewer battery electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid vehicles on their lots. EV Battery Swapping Gains Traction

A startup in California hopes to transform EV charging through leveraging battery swapping technology, aiming to provide a smooth recharging process that is comparable to that of topping up a gasoline tank. Ample, a company based in California that offers battery switching, has commercialized a new, highly efficient swapping station which reduces the time needed for a swap to around five minutes. This is roughly the amount of time needed to fill a gasoline tank and is much less compared to the half hour or more taken to fully charge most electric vehicles at standard quick-charging stations. The prefab points…

China Surpasses Japan as Leading Car Exporter

China took the largest car exporter position in the world after it surpassed Japan during the first quarter of 2023. This increase is due to its rising electric vehicle sales and the opportunity to keep doing business with Russia. According to official numbers that were released a week ago, China shipped more than 1 million automobiles in the first three months of this year, showing an increase of 58%, which is in contrast to what was shipped during the same period of last year. Buyers Start Reaping the Benefits of Electric Light Delivery Vans

The auto industry is dominated by electric passenger vehicles. However, light delivery vans could profit more from electric vehicles in terms of operating costs and range advantages. Currently, light commercial trucks make up a very small portion of all electric motor vehicles marketed; however, electric vehicles are quite suited to working fleets of vans in a number of ways. Delivery vans and trucks do not require huge, pricey batteries because they frequently travel fixed distances or well-planned routes every day. The majority of them are able to cover a 100-mile distance prior to another charge. One reason why electric vehicles…

California Considers Bill Mandating V2G Technology for EVs

In California, a measure has been presented that would mandate that all electric vehicles have the capacity to charge in both directions beginning with the model year 2027. The California Senate bill, SB 233, which was introduced by Nancy Skinner, senator of the Oakland area near Tesla's Fremont plant, has been endorsed by a range of organizations. The bill does not expressly provide for the definition of bidirectionally capable vehicles, but it calls for a working party to be set up by the California Energy Commission and report on the capabilities of different types of vehicles. This might include the…

Tesla to Demolish, Upgrade Fremont Production Line

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) is reportedly deconstructing and modernizing its assembly line in Fremont, California, possibly to launch the large-scale manufacturing of one of their newly designed car models. The timing of Tesla's application to tear down “numerous pieces of machinery, tools, and services” at the factory in Fremont coincides with the recent leaks of Project Highland Model 3 pictures, which was spotted on the test track at Fremont, with major interior design alterations. Solid-State Batteries Could Revolutionize EVs

Despite the fact that there are many different kinds of electric cars becoming more and more popular all over the world, their range and the batteries’ potential for powering different kinds of vehicles are both constrained. Batteries are the key to the future of electric cars. The whole world would potentially accept electric vehicles if battery technology could outperform gasoline in terms of range, how they perform and effectiveness. Li-ion batteries are the current mode of power for all electric vehicles. However, these batteries have great limitations. Therefore manufacturers are focusing on solid-state batteries as a more viable option. It…
