AI Could Boost Electric Vehicle Range, Performance

The most recent method for extending the range of electric vehicles is astronomically innovative. The AI software that analyzes the EV data is able to extend a typical car’s range by up to 100 kilometers.

According to the experts in the field, one of the numerous ways EVs and their associated batteries develop in the upcoming years may be through artificially intelligent software. It may also contribute to tire conservation and the notification of problems three months in advance.

The EVE-Ai software, created by Fabrizio Martin and released by Electra Vehicles, uses the information collected by automobiles and is analyzed by machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). The collected data includes the vehicle’s present location, the weather, the number of people in the vehicle and the driver’s driving behavior.

Whether that comes through on-board sensors or artificial intelligence sensors, EVs produce a lot of information. Combining all of the information can result in a customized proposal on how the range can be increased based on the specific vehicle and battery as well as the driver and route.

The AI software provides information to each driver on whether they should increase speed or drive slowly. Also, it provides users with guidance on the power status of the vehicle battery, including when the vehicle needs to be recharged and how much power is required at a particular time, using a function called Dynamic State of Charge (SoC)

With Tesla’s Model 3 and Model S, as well as the Nissan Leaf, according to Martin, the software has increased up to 28% of extra battery performance. This translates to offering the driver an additional 50–100 km of range, which might significantly influence the decision to purchase an electric car.

According to Martini, the AI technology might also double the lifespan of a car battery. Also, the program has the ability to reliably alert drivers three months in advance of a battery malfunction.

Electra’s software will be used in electric vehicles made by the Chinese company Pateo, alongside IVY software technology from BlackBerry. Vito Giallorenzo asserts that the growth of the automobile industry will turn cars from dumb pieces of machinery into cutting-edge technology to be used by consumers.

According to Giallorenzo, companies will be able to use analytical technologies to increase the life span of electric vehicle batteries, offer warnings on the ideal time for replacement of less vital auto parts such as brake pads and tires, and address the range issue, which is considered a significant barrier.

The EV space is rapidly evolving, and we could see additional innovations by companies such as Kandi Technologies Group Inc. (NASDAQ: KNDI) aimed at addressing some of the concerns that the motoring public has about electric vehicles.
