UK Advisers Call for Additional Car Taxes for Environmental Reasons

To help the UK achieve net zero emissions by 2050, an independent government body is calling for a hike in car taxes. The Committee on Climate Change (“CCC”), an independent body formed in 2008 following the Climate Change Act, says lawmakers should increase tax rates for conventionally fueled cars to help raise money to fund climate change initiatives in the country.
